About the Centre
The Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre (SKC), located in the heart of Copenhagen, is a global centre of excellence for interdisciplinary Kierkegaard research.
SKC was founded in 1994 and has since attracted researchers from around the world, who work together to maintain a dynamic and international research environment.
SKC houses a Kierkegaard Library stocked with recent literature, as well as an associated collection of volumes similar to those in Kierkegaard's own library.
SKC offers short or long stays for PhD students, postdocs and senior researchers.
SKC organises reading groups in Kierkegaard's works, and seminars at which students present their own projects.
SKC does not provide scholarships, but offers a workplace/office, library access, and participation in project seminars and reading groups, as well as an inspiring international research environment.
SKC can assist in helping students to find accommodation, but does not have its own housing.
SKC regularly hosts various Kierkegaard-related seminars, conferences and workshops.
SKC offers research-based teaching in Danish and English for bachelor's and Master's students.
SKC also enables students to take a Master's Degree in Kierkegaard Studies.
SKC is housed next to the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre Foundation (FSKC), which publishes Kierkegaard's writings (SKS.)
SKC hosts various translators, translation projects and translation seminars based on SKS.
