Translation of Søren Kierkegaard's Writings (SKS)
Another of SKC's main pillars is the management and co-ordination of the various translations of SKS.
In 2010, translation is taking place into the following 14 languages:
• Czech
• Chinese
• Dutch
• English
• French
• German
• Hungarian
• Italian
• Korean
• Latvian
• Portuguese
• Romanian
• Spanish
The English, French and German projects include all of Kierkegaard's journals, notebooks and loose papers, while the Spanish project includes all of Kierkegaard's unpublished writings.
The Ministry of Culture has promised a 50/50 funding of DKK 10 million, to be split between the English, French, German and Spanish translation projects.
The rest of the translations are individual volumes.
Translation seminars
Every two years, SKC will host a two- to three-day translation seminar for translators in both current and future SKS-translation projects.
The first seminar will be held January 21-23, 2011.
